So you got yourself a lino printing kit!

Get yourself a nice drink, find a comfy space and open your kit where you will find there the main tools you’ll need to complete this process.

You will also need a pencil (preferably HB or softer), something to roll your ink onto (the glass from a photo frame works wonders) and a spoon (yes, a soup spoon from your kitchen will be perfect).

Follow this tutorial and, if you have any questions before, during or after, don’t hesitate to contact me on instagram or email.

  • It varies widely but around 60 to 90 minutes should be fine!

  • The ink you’ll find in your kit is a water based black ink.

  • Before the ink on the lino dries, it’s a good idea to take as much ink as possible from it. You can do so by scrubbing in dry (don’t use water just yet) with some paper towel or newspaper.
You can clean the rest of the ink by washing it with soap and water and let it dry.
To keep your lino in best conditions, it’s ideal to, once dried, keep it for a couple of days under some heavy books so that it keeps its shape. You may wrap it in an old tea towel so it’s even more protected!
